Tips to Cure Snoring Problems

Today, women are increasingly involved in health issues which used to belong only to men, including snoring. Many snoring cures and so-called cures have appeared on the marketplace, but may not be medically valid. The problem of snoring though has been determined to be a legitimate health concern in addition to being a point of contention between husbands and wives.

Real help in curing snoring problems will result in a happier healthier life for you and your loved ones. The following tips may prove useful for occasional snoring episodes, not for the problem of snoring sleep apnea.

CAUSES OF SNORING

Overweight is a cause of snoring. There is a direct correlation between being overweight and snoring due to the soft tissue blockage of air passages. Losing weight is a good idea, not only to lessen the incidence of snoring but to reduce the risk of several weight related life threatening diseases.

Sleeping on the back causes the relaxation of the throats soft tissues. Air vibration against the relaxed tissues causes the vibration and noise of snoring. Changing your sleeping position to one on your side will help you sleep better, regardless of whether the snoring stops or not. You may also wish to try pillow to elevate the head to a better position.

On the other hand, removing a pillow will put the neck into the most relaxed position which opens the clogged airways and allows you to sleep more comfortable without snoring.

There is a direct correlation between smoking and snoring. In addition to the proven health benefits gained by ceasing smoking, you will find a reduction in intensity of the snoring sound if you discontinue smoking.

Limit or discontinue the use of food, alcoholic beverages, antihistamines, sleeping pills and other sedatives before retiring for the night, because all of these substances relax the neck muscles. Also avoid milk or dairy products before bed as these cause extra mucus which can cause snoring.

These stop snoring tips and many others like them may help reduce or eliminate minor or occasional shoring problems. Additionally, there are several devices or products over the counter which claim help in reducing storing. Serious snoring however, should be a matter of a medical staff review.
